I am responding to John Carlson\u2019s commentary on \u201cPalin can think for herself.\u201d I am \u201castonished\u201d as well but not at the \u201cbrazen hypocrisy of liberals.\u201d I am more astonished at Mr. Carlson\u2019s comparisons. He compares Ferraro\u2019s campaign with Palin\u2019s. These are different times \u2013 he\u2019s comparing apples to oranges. The \u201cdoesn\u2019t have enough experience\u201d statements were originally being made by McCain against Obama as a \u201creason\u201d to vote for McCain. Now that the \u201cdoesn\u2019t have enough experience\u201d is being used against Palin, he calls it \u201cexcuse.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Palin\/Biden comparison left out one critical point. Biden\u2019s spouse died, leaving him alone to support his sons. He did not have a spouse to quit a job as Palin does. Another important fact given in Biden\u2019s son\u2019s \u201cmoving speech\u201d was that Biden took the train home every night to be with his sons. I\u2019m sure some women are wondering how Palin can leave five children, one only four months old and one a pregnant teenager. That\u2019s not insult, that\u2019s not criticism, it\u2019s a question.<\/p>\n
Finally, I don\u2019t know if Palin \u201ccan think for herself\u201d until I hear her answer questions from the media, debate Biden or talk about the real issues facing American families.<\/p>\n
