Liberty girls' soccer season ends in KingCo tournament

The Liberty girls soccer team fell to Sammamish 2-0 last night in the first round of the KingCo tournament.

The teams played a defensive battle early in the game until Dani Blanchard got an assist from Anna Geldenhuys and nailed a goal for Sammamish in the 50th minute. Geldenhuys then hit her own goal in the 73rd minute, with Shannon Scott assisting. Each team totaled five shots on goal.

During the regular season, the two teams tied 1-1 in the first meeting and Liberty won the second game 3-0. The Patriots ended the regular season with a 9-4-3 overall record.

Sammamish moves on in the tournament and will play Bellevue tonight (Thursday).
