Armondo Pavone ‘has our back' | LETTER

You don’t have to turn on the news or read an article online to know that we are living in politically charged, turbulent times. This is true at the national, state, and yes, even local level. Regardless of where your beliefs lie, your vote in the Nov. 7th election has never been more important. Here in Renton, I am going to cast my vote for Armondo Pavone for City Council Position No. 2. Let me tell you why.

Armondo and I have known each other for many years. I’ll never forget the first time I met him. He was working busily in the office at The Melrose Grill, one minute plunking away at a computer and the next minute running to the kitchen. What I remember the most about that first encounter was despite his busiest Armondo took the time to greet me and make me feel at home. His sense of calm under pressure and humble leadership was instantly felt. I learned that day that despite his quiet demeanor, Armondo exemplifies hard work and dedication, and respects all who walk through his door.

Since that time I have had the opportunity to get to know Armondo both personally and professionally. During my time as president of the Renton Historical Society Board of Trustees, Armondo continually went out of his way to assist the Board in recruiting new members. He outwardly supported and fought for funding for the Renton History Museum and encouraged others to do so as well. As a life-long Renton resident, Armondo understands the importance of maintaining and investing in our community, its rich history, and its people.

As a full time working mother of two young children, I know that Armondo has our back. He understands the needs of families and has our best interests in mind. He has fought hard to keep our streets safe by working closely with our police officers and firefighters. He supports downtown revitalization efforts that would bring more family-friendly businesses to the area and ensure that moms like me feel safe taking their children out to enjoy the many amenities Renton has to offer. With Armondo on City Council I know my children’s futures are in good hands. I urge you to vote with me on Nov. 7 for Armondo Pavone for Renton City Council Position No. 2.
