Assault and robbery

Renton police officers responded on June 4 at approximately 3:05 p.m. to a call regarding a strong-armed robbery in the 2400 block of Jones Avenue South. According to the department, a man reported seeing a second man exiting a vehicle. The second man proceeded to strike him several times and stole his backpack and jacket. According to the department, the man advised police that four additional men sat inside the vehicle, watching the assault. The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Threatened with a firearm

Renton police officers responded on June 9 at approximately 12:39 p.m. after a woman flagged down officers. According to the department, the woman reported to police a man aimed a gun at her as she was driving in the 600 block of Burnett Avenue South. She stated the man walked in front of her vehicle in the street as she was driving, and she tapped on her horn to get his attention. She said to police the man responded by pointing a gun at her. As the woman spoke to police, another officer reported seeing a suspect matching the description she provided, and the woman positively identified the man. Renton police arrested and booked the man into jail.
