Council roundup: Waterfowl management agreement

Business went as usual in a short 15-minute Renton City Council meeting on June 24.

There was one public comment, and the usual administrative report, consent agenda, unfinished business, legislation, and new business proceeded without fault.

Notable action:

• Public Works Maintenance Services requested authorization to purchase two 2024 Ford Forest River vans for $210,082.60. The budget for this purchase was included in the 2024 carry forward budget adjustment. The council adopted this item with no opposition.

• Resolution No. 4530: On legislation, the Interlocal Agreement with the cities of Bellevue, Kirkland, Mountlake Terrace, SeaTac and Woodinville, the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation, the Port of Seattle, the University of Washington, and the United States Department of Agriculture was adopted with no opposition. The purpose of this ILA is to manage waterfowl, specifically Canada Geese.
