Baker clear choice in 41st

The 41st District finally has a clear choice for State Senate in Bob Baker, and I am excited about it. I am even more excited about helping Fred Jarrett, ex-Republican who never really was a Republican, lose! I have attended community meetings, as well as e-mailing and calling Fred, about various issues in the past years, and I never get an answer that would help me feel represented as a conservative voter.

All Fred has cared about is changing the simple majority on school levies (which I was against personally) as well as our transportation system. Fred was on various transportation committees, yet nothing has improved except the constant drum of supporting Sound Transit which has only 3-5 percent of ridership. Has our commute in the Puget Sound been improved since he was in office ... answer that honestly people. Bob Baker supports adding car-lane capacity as a concrete solution.

Now we have a candidate who is serious about lowering our taxes in Bob Baker. As he said in one of his newsletters, “I believe the fruits of our labor belong to each of us, not government.”

As a longtime resident of the 41st, all the positions have been filled in the last ten years or so by either Democrats or liberal-leaning Republicans. Finally we have a concrete choice in electing Bob Baker to this office. And I am excited that he was in the Navy so we can feel “piloted” in the right direction finally in our state!
